Help Us to Dream
Your Dreams oh Lord!
Your Dreams oh Lord!
Just last week, we held our last week-end for our spring season. We studied the life of Joseph, who warred with the prophecies God spoke over him at the age of 17 through two dreams that would not be completely fulfilled until about 15 years later.
Warring with the prophecies God has spoken over us is something Paul taught Timothy to do in 1 Timothy 1:18-19 :"Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well, holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith." This is a lesson I am still learning not only about prophecy but about destiny robbers who can, if we let them, rob us of the fulfillment of those prophecies for a longer period of time than God intended. Have you recognized prophecies God has given you or your loved ones? They can come in dreams or visions, words of knowledge God gives us or others receive from the Lord to give to us. It can come through any of our 5 senses. It can also come through a Rhema word as we are studying and meditating on God's word. A rhema word comes to us when unexpectedly a concept or sentence in the Bible stands out to you in such a powerful way that you know God is speaking specifically to you through that passage of scripture. Joseph gives us a good example of how to war with those prophecies through faith in what God reveals, regardless of what circumstances try to "shipwreck" or steal those destinies from us. Genesis 37 to 50 reveals a man of God who is one of my favorite Bible characters. Joseph never stopped believing what God revealed to him, even in his "land of sorrows" where he spent jail time for his integrity walk in Egypt where he was sold by his own brothers into slavery. His dreams came to him when he was 17 but their partial fullfillment took an additional 13 years but their completed fulfillment lasted 80 years according to some historical books that some believe are lost scriptures in the Bible. Whether truly inspired by God or good historical references, the book of Jasher and Jubillees indicates that Joseph actually became king when the old Pharoah asked his son to make Joseph king over Israel when he departed this life and his son apparently agreed to give up his throne to Joseph, who reigned over Egypt for 80 years. I've been leading a small group of intercessors, for about three years now. Most of these faithful friends and intercessors have joined us for a workshop or week-end for their own freedom/healing walk with the Lord. One of the questions that arises as we intercede for ourselves, families, communities, nations and the world, is can we remove "all the demons" from the territory God has given to us "in the spirit" as we intercede with the authority and direction He has been giving us through the past few years? In the book of Jubilee and Jasher, we may have found our answer. These books or fragment of them, were found amongst the dead sea scrolls as "part of the old testament scriptures" perhaps. They are found in the Ethiopian Bible to this day. Meanwhile, it is at the very least, a good historical reference. The story of Joseph is elaborated in greater detail and we are told that Joseph reigned in Egypt for 80 years, becoming king over it when the Pharoah with the "dreams" asked his son to give the crown to Joseph at his passing and the son agreed to this. In the book of Jubillees we are told several times that during Joseph's reign over Egypt "no Satan or any evil person could be found in all of Egypt." The people, who once bowed to foreign gods, were only worshipping and obeying the God of Joseph, the Creator God, or el;se legal license for demons would have remained in the land through strongholds of sin and idolatry. This could be a record of the longest revival this planet ever knew. It came about all because of the dreams of a Pharoah (and Joseph) that intersected and were correctly interpreted by a godly prophetic man who always gave credit to God for those interpretations. This happened in order for the world to be prepared (as well as God's people), to survive and thrive through a time that could have destroyed most of the population on the earth but God..... This story shows the hand of God in the affairs of man are loving, protective and destiny-oriented for all the people of the world, not just for Joseph and His family. God has a destiny story for ALL of us. Do you know yours? Have you stopped and taken time to inquire of the Lord? Perhaps it is time you did! The Lord is eager to show you what He wrote about you in His book of life noted in Ps. 139:16 and Ephesians 2:10. Check out those scriptures and ask the Lord what God has been dreaming about you since before you were born? Meanwhile, "do not despise prophecies" 1 Thess 5:20 warns. Perhaps they could save your lives!
